tears arent a bad thing

Just got back from our sites. At my site tears flowed from both the kids and the youth. One girl in our group had a kid tell her that she was more like a mom than her own mother. We had a lot of frustration on our site about logistics but the relationships that were formed were so worth it. Austin is telling stories now about how hard it was for their team to leave their site. Joey says that they got a couple projects done at the church where they were working. Fils crew finished another project today. The lady they worked for gave them some money for hamburgers. The team voted to give it to the missions offering instead. We are tired. We have walked many miles and seen many things. We have seen the Lord in the faces and lives of many people. May others have seen God in our actions. Worship tonight and the packing begins. It will be hard to say goodbye to new friends. You have until 10 to leave comments. That's when they will be read to the group. Peace.

  1. I am so proud of all of you!! I believe that you have made a difference this week. And I'm sure your tired and ready to sleep in you own bed and that you might not have seen all you did for the people you helped this week, because the gift you've given them will continue after you leave through God's LOVE. Bless all of you and have a safe trip home.. Shonda

  2. What a difference a week makes...literally! A BIG thank you to Brian, Karen, Fil, Mary, and especially each of you for giving of yourselves by giving to others. You could have chose to spend this week at home enjoying your summer break, but instead you stepped out of your comfort zone and showed others what it means to be a Christian. By demonstrating care and compassion, you have changed someone's life significantly. Never forget this week and make a memory to always look back and reflect upon. God bless each of you as you travel home to loving arms waiting to surround you. <3 Mendy

  3. You people are awesome. I am so thankful for your willingness to make yourselves available to God this week. From what Brian has said in his blog posts, it sounds like God has worked in you and through you to do some amazing stuff both to those you sought to serve and in each of you. You have certainly chosen him above yourselves this week. Blessings and safe travels. Peace, Ed
